stuck sketches Mar 1 2018

Another fun and bright layout. This time it's my daughter. If I'm honest I wasn't in love with the multiple circles in the background of the original sketch but I had a think about it and decided to use circles but in a different way. I had these two 3x4 photos kicking around my desk and wanted to scrap them but never found a layout to suit but this fit the bill with the inclusion of the project life card. I had so much fun picking out little embellishments to "bulk out" the circles. I used mostly Heidi Swapp gold stickers, the ones I loved when I got them a while back but never had a plan for them. Anyway another bit of fun. As for the photos, they were taken when my daughter died her hair purple at the ends. Although it was meant to be semi permanent it took a very long time to wash out. Oh to be 15 again, how cute.

Stuck Sketches Jan 15 2018

It's been a while since I have been creative. I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps and that certainly put creativity on hold. This week I decided to just go for it and this sketch was the catalyst. I printed some silly selfies and used some new colourful embellies and here's a fun summery layout. I love it and I'm mad for these Reject Shop llamas. So cute.

Stuck Sketches March 15 2017

Another awesome sketch. So proud of my girl who is making such a great effort this year with her studies. She's doing really well already. I see my girl like this a lot, studying in our dining room.
As for scrapbooking, it was a nice feeling to use up this old Basic Grey paper and sticker sheet from the Oxford range. I had fun with this one using lots of older supplies. I knew I was saving them up for a reason, LOL!!!

Stuck Sketches March 2017

This sketch spoke to me the moment I saw it. I knew instantly what I wanted to scrap and it's all about my recent Christmas presents. My daughter squirrelled herself away in her room a lot at the start of the school holidays so that she could sew me these beautiful felt creations in time for Christmas. At 15 she's done a beautiful job and I'm so proud of her. She used to sew with me a little when she was in primary school but hasn't done much since then. It was great to see she was still handy with a needle.
I'm so glad I have scrapped this and my next step will be to attach a pin to the back of these little guys so I can wear them on different outfits as a brooch.
I have used Crate Paper "Shine" for my background paper, a lot of ephemera from the Hello Love range, a couple of Heidi Swapp stickers too.

Stuck Sketches - 15 January 2017

Wooohoo! Not only another layout for the month but another layout for my Singapore holiday album. This layout is all about our favourite place to eat in Singapore - Clarke Quay. I've chosen to write the journaling after submitting this layout but basically it will be about how close Clarke Quay was to our accommodation and how many times we ate there.

Please excuse the shadow on my title, it's 5.15pm and the sun is getting low, so mega shadow. Anyway, this was a fun layout because I took a lot of photos of this location and it was a large part of our holiday. Got to use up lots of papers and embellishments from lots of different brands so there's a plus too. Yay, feeling good.

Stuck Sketches 1 January 2017

Whoa, I have had a huge slump in creativity of late. I found it hard to sit in one spot for more that a few minutes because of a terrible pain in my knee so scrapbooking went on hold. I have now found out that the pain in my knee was caused by advance arthritis. So now I am on some amazing medication and my knee has stopped hurting and that means I can walk and sit and stand and just be "normal" again. So with that my creativity is back.

For this first challenge I wanted to showcase the cutest little piñata that my daughter made recently. I felt that the Kaiser Craft papers were the perfect showcase for this. I guess I have strayed a little bit away from the sketch but I feel it has a similar vibe. So glad to be back with creativity.

It was great to finally find a use for the gorgeous unicorn from the Cute Girl chipboard. Got to use up some Heidi Swapp PL too. Gotta love the black glitter.

I really liked the way this layout turned out but to be honest something was bugging me about the left hand side. I liked the white space but I felt something was missing. I slept on it and then had a think about it this morning. Still couldn't pick the problem. Then it dawned on me to go through the HS embellies and find something to use in this space. The banners were the exact same colour and glitter as the Love This arrow and I found them to be exactly what I felt was needed in this space. To me it just adds a little something and draws your eye to the mini piñata. Happy now!!!!

Stuck Sketches August 1

This months sketch is so perfect for me. I knew straight away which pictures I wanted to use. I don't tend to scrap many Christmas photos mainly because there is only the four of us and we have a very simple relaxed Christmas. However, every year for the last 6 years or so we make two small gingerbread houses and the kids love to decorate them and pretty much demolish them as soon as the icing dries. My tradition is to have the kids hold up their gingerbread house standing in front of the Christmas tree.
The papers I have used here are one of my favourite Christmas papers and I have no idea what brand they might be but they would have to be about two to three years old. I'm so pleased to have scrapped these photos and I will add them to my Christmas album.

Here's the original sketch
